and the unique thing is we set a goal, and i've said it many times on your show, to stop the biden agenda, win the majority and fire nancy pelosi. we have just achieved all three of those. now, our majority we would have liked to have been higher, but they lost in the senate, they lost the governors, the statement thehouse, but in the house of representatives we won the majority. it's not the size of the gavel, it's the power of the gavel, of who holds it. we'll end up with 222 members, exactly the size of what the democrats have now. but all the work that we want to do from rolling out the investigations, from rebuilding our economy,s from securing our border, none of that can go forward without us moving forward on the floor having the vote of the speaker, putting the rules in and working together as one. we will be successful if we work as one team, and it's something i'm trying to do to make sure it's a bottom-up situation inside our conference. maria: so you think you'll end up with 222 republicans. >> yes. when you look at the numbers today, think about where we won.

it's not just the millions of illegal people coming across this border, this is where the for thal from china comes -- fentanyl from china comes that will kill 300 americans today, the number one killer of the next generation. this is where people on the terror watch list, more than 98 that have entered this nation, why are they coming here? what do they have planned? maria: wow. 300 people dead a day from fentanyl, that's incredible. congressman, you know that you don't have everybody's support. are representative andy biggs has said a no vote, he doesn't want you to be the next speaker. he tweeted that out. how are you going to get the # 18 votes you immediate to become speakersome tell us -- you need to become speaker? tell us how you're going to convince those 4 or 5 people who are pushing back? andy biggs tweets this: i've seen enough. i cannot vote for kevin mccarthy as house speaker. i do not believe he will get to the 218 votes, and i refuse to assist him in his effort. >> well, we need to work as one

because if that continues to move forward, all the investigations we asked to happen, the securing the border, the stopping the movement, none of that can the move forward. andy ran inside the conference, and we had that debate, and i think that's a healthy and a good debate. it's worth being challenged to the make sure competition's there. but we have to work as one conference because if 4 want to vote one way, 4 can vote another. we have to unite as republicans and understand the commitment we made to the american people. when we have this debate, most of the discussion wasn't about me, it was the process and the rules in the house. i i have opened up the rules even greater than we've ever before, changed the steering committee where the power rests with the conference themselves to make that decision. they had more power than leadership ever had in the past. and really we're walking through rules next week as well. i kept that open. so if the argument is about the rules of the house, let collectively the conference make that a decision. but we will only be successful if we work together, but we will fail if we work as individuals.

well, it's quite simple. the biden administration needs to listen, listen to the people who are on the front lines, the brave men and women who are protecting our nation. and what they are saying is that the lifting of title 42, it will mean that there will be an exponential increase in illegal immigrants crossing our borders. now, what that means to the viewers and to you and i is that border patrol agents will be taken off the front line. their duties of protecting our border and put in administration duties. what that a means is the cartels will be able to bring more drugs across and more illegal activity, and that's what should be concerning. the biden administration needs to listen to what the border patrol agents are saying. maria: well, it's absolutely extraordinary that alejandro mayorkas continues to say the border is secure and yet we've got pounds and pounds and pounds of fentanyl seized, we've got

thousands and thousands of people every month, 5 million crossed over the last 2 years. what needs to be done, in your view, to secure this border and to insure the safety of american families? >> well, mayorkas and the biden administration has failed on every point when it comes to the border crisis. in fact, what they've been saying is that they were going to have a plan for when title 42 was lifted. to this day, border patrol agents have seen no plan at all. and so what that means is that when it is lifted, it leaves our communities right here on the southern border vulnerable, but it leaves all of america vulnerable. this is why i'm so excited about having speaker mccarthy come to the front lines with a plan not only to support our border patrolling agent as, but to bring a strong border that a

on this 150 suspicious activity the reports. most people will never get a suspicious activity report, right? >> right. maria: what is it, and is how come they were flagged by the banks? >> is 99.99% of americans will never get a suspicious activity report. these were created after september 11th for the government to be able to track suspicious foreign transactions. it's expanded over time to track things like money laundering. but when a bank files a suspicious activity the report, that's notifying the federal government that we're pretty certain our client has committed a crime. hunter biden and jim biden has at least 150 of these, we believe joe biden's name was on some of those accounts. that's why we want to -- but the suspicious activity reports are very detailed as to why the bank suspected criminal activity was taking place by the bidens. maria: i've said from day one, this is not a hunter biden story, this is a joe biden story, because they were basically selling access to joe

press that hunter biden is going to be charged with tax the issues. is it because he wasn't paying taxes on all of the money that chinese and ukrainian and russian officials were wiring into his account? >> right, yeah. he has at least a $2 million tax bill with the irs. i don't know how many people you know that the owe the irs over $2 million, but hunter biden is one of 'em. the tax a evasion is the least of hunter biden's problems, and my fear is if the doj indicts hunter biden, then that will essentially protect him from a congressional subpoena from the house oversight committee. so i'm not advocating for hunter biden to be indicted, i'm not advocating for a special counsel because i believe if the treasury cabinet and if the banks will work with us, we'll be able to get answers to the most important questions on the house oversight. maria: jim jordan, how did this happen? how did the doj and the fbi become so politicized? we know what they did around the russia collusion story. they had no evidence of any

collusion with trump, and yet they pursued fisa warrants to spy and surveil is people within the trump world aggressively. >> i don't know how it happened, but i know it has to change because america's the greatest country in history, but we're not america. america's not america if you have a justice the president that treats people differently under the law -- justice department. whistleblowers have said at the highest levels, not the rank and pile, but at the washington field office of the fbi, that's where the politics is. one of these agents said it's rotted at its core, that's how bad it is. look, remember this too if you need any more -- go back to mr. smith again, jack smith. there was, back in 2013, his section that he ran at the justice department not only was looking for ways to prosecute the very people who were targeted by obama's irs, they also asked the irs to give them confidential taxpayer information, and the irs complied. think about that.
7:45 am
maria: wow. >> you had the justice department saying we want information we're not supposed to get, give it to us, and and the irs gave it to them. so this is, it seems to me, a pattern. it has to change because if it doesn't, we don't have this great thing that we call america where people are treated equally under our law. maria: james comer and jim jordan, please come back as soon as possible. we're going to continue following this. you are doing very important work. thank you, gentlemen. >> thank you. >> thank you. maria: we'll be right back.

>> well, number one, it is the spending and what the inflation that we're seeing now is caused by the spending. and when you look at this race in georgia, herschel walker's against all of this excessive spending, but his opponent has voted for all of these spending bills. he's been a rubber stamp for joe biden. you've been talking about inflation and specifically with thanksgiving coming, and i know you've been focused on that. look, all of these prices are way up, and it's because of the spending coming out of washington. in term thes of the energy you're talking about, people want affordable energy, and the thing that's most disturbing to me, maria, is what's happening right now with regard to china and the u.s. china is eating our lunch at the climate conference in egypt, and they're not even there. john kerry is there trying to give away the store. there's already a u.n. climate fund that china can feed at, and we put money into. and now, astonishingly, they want to set up a climate
